Most of the features available in XProtect Smart Client are available in all versions of the XProtect products, but some features work differently depending on what XProtect product you connect to. If in doubt, ask your surveillance system administrator about which type of XProtect surveillance system you connect to. In general, Milestone recommends that you always use the latest version of the XProtect Smart Client to ensure that you have access to all the new features and functions included in your XProtect surveillance system.
