1. You are a Global Sales Trainer at Milestone, but what is your story?

Presently, I am the Global Sales Trainer within the Global Sales Training department in GSO, marking my third role in my six-year tenure at Milestone. Originally from South Africa, I held the position of Inside Channel Manager from 2018 to 2021. In 2021, I transitioned from the South African office to the Headquarters in Denmark, undertaking the role of Account Manager in the Channel Success department with a focus on CARE sales. My areas of expertise encompass Sales, Sales Management, People Management, Sales Training, Account Management, and Channel Relationships.

2. What is your internal career development story?

My initial chance emerged when I expressed a desire to relocate to another country. Collaborating closely with my Manager and Regional Director, we formulated a comprehensive growth plan. My manager played a pivotal role right from the beginning. Subsequently, my second opportunity arose after relocating to the headquarters in Denmark. Eager to advance in my career and contribute more significantly to enhancing our Global Sales Operations, I initiated discussions with my manager. Together, we developed a strategic plan, and I received support in reaching out to pertinent individuals to set this progression in motion. Throughout this journey, I've been fortunate to experience unwavering support and encouragement from Management, HR, and my colleagues.

3. How did the job transition/ internal development helped you grow personally & professionally?

In my perspective, regardless of one's accumulated experience or perceived knowledge, personal growth and skill enhancement persistently unfold when transitioning into a new position or role. The most formidable challenge for me arose when I relocated to a different country, introducing varied elements such as culture, language, weather, and lifestyle. Embracing this change, I willingly stretched the boundaries of my competencies and comfort zone, confronting challenges that touched upon different facets of my strengths and highlighted areas for improvement. The internal move within Milestone has undeniably afforded me the opportunity to acquire new skills while refining existing strengths.

4. What is your best career advice?

Here's my top advice: TAKE INITIATIVE. Milestone's people-first culture and the profound sense of "family" among colleagues provide a significant advantage in empowering you to drive your own growth. Management is receptive to conversations about your development, actively encouraging it. So, all you have to do is formulate a plan, engage in the discussion, and carve out your own path forward.
