SICK Laser Scanners for Detection and Protection - SICK Laser Technology for Intrusion Detection / Valuables Protection Fully Integrated with Milestone
The SICK Milestone MIP Plug-In allows the user to take full advantage of the power of SICK Security Laser Scanners with their Milestone VMS. The plug-in is free, easy to install and requires no additional software to implement. Once installed, the plug-in allows the user to add SICK laser scanners directly to their Milestone VMS just like any other sensor. The advantage here is that the scanners, using invisible eye-safe LiDAR technology, are able to accurately detect intrusions day or night within millimeters. When an intrusion is detected, by utilizing the powerful Milestone Rules Engine, the scanners can activate fixed cameras or direct PTZ cameras to preset positions corresponding to the location of the intrusion to quickly allow for visual verification of the situation. In addition to any camera or system recording that may be enabled, the SICK MIP plug-in can also create and deliver an MJPEG stream of the actual scanner data which can then be recorded or viewed in live mode.Key features

Use the combined power of SICK Laser Scanners to detect intrusions in the areas you’re concerned about along with the Milestone Rules Engine to swing PTZ cameras for fast, accurate visual verification

A new feature - Now the background live image of the scan view can be changed to add a floorplan or anything similar making it easy to see the impact of any changes made to the scanner's parameters.

Areas of Interest or Fields can be configured in nearly any orientation or location allowing you to focus on what you're concerned about protecting and ignoring what you don't.

Here you can see a defined area of interest within the scanned area. Objects outside of the defined field are ignored and since there is no intrusion in the field, the scanner is not in alarm.

Now here is the same field in alarm. There has been an intrusion detected (the two dots at the top of the zone). These dots are the legs of a person detected 55 meters away, at night, in the rain.

This plug-in is deeply integrated and dynamically loaded into the Milestone XProtect VMS Platform which allows for simple integration and configuration without the need for any additional software.

Once installed, the configuration interface of the SICK MIP plug-in appears on the bottom left side under MIP - Plug-Ins. Choose SICK Sensor to easily configure, add or modify the laser scanners.
